Michael accepts briefs in all areas of commercial and public law, with a particular focus on contractual disputes, equity and trusts, administrative law and statutory construction.
His practice as a solicitor primarily focussed on complex commercial litigation, corporations and shareholder disputes, arbitrations and judicial review matters.
Before being called to the Bar, Michael was a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution team at MinterEllison. Prior to this, he was the Associate to the Hon Patrick A Keane AC of the High Court of Australia and the Hon Justice John K Bond in the Trial Division (Commercial List) of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Civil Law (Distinction) from the University of Oxford, where he read Commercial Remedies, Restitution of Unjust Enrichment, Advanced Administrative Law and Principles of Civil Procedure, achieving a distinction grade in all four of his papers. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws and Economics from the University of Queensland, from which he graduated with a University Medal and as Valedictorian of his graduating class.
