Overview

Duncan has a broad commercial practice, with a focus in the areas of contracts, insolvency, insurance and property. Duncan also practises in administrative law, including in matters involving universities. Duncan has appeared led and unled in State and Federal courts and tribunals, and in commissions of inquiry.

Duncan has particular experience in large and complex litigation, including acting for the State of Queensland in a proceeding commenced by over 900 taxi licence holders in relation to the State’s response to Uber and other ride-share operators.

Prior to being called to the bar, Duncan worked as a solicitor for over 9 years (from 2014 as a senior associate) in commercial litigation at Corrs Chambers Westgarth Lawyers. That time included secondments to LawRight, Nishimura & Asahi Lawyers in Tokyo (Japan’s largest law firm) and to the University of Queensland’s legal team.
