Ben Wilson graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019 with Bachelors of Laws (Hons) and Arts. He also holds a Graduate Certificate of Military Law (2021) and a Master of Laws (2022) from the Australian National University.

He began his career serving as a Legal Officer with the Royal Australian Air Force and continues to render service in a reserve capacity. Leaving the permanent military in 2022, he worked briefly in commercial litigation before accepting an in-house role with a major defence contractor where he worked for two years.
