Overview

Jayleigh practises predominantly in general commercial, corporate and insolvency litigation, with particular experience in property and contractual disputes.

Jayleigh accepts briefs to appear in all jurisdictions, having conducted trials both led and unled.

Prior to being called to the bar, Jayleigh worked for more than 6 years in commercial litigation and insolvency at a boutique litigation firm (Tucker & Cowen) and then a national firm (McInnes Wilson). As a solicitor, Jayleigh worked on a broad range of commercial disputes including large mining and resources litigation in the Supreme Court of Queensland, acting for the receiver of a managed investment scheme, recovering misappropriated funds on behalf of an employer, and smaller claims in lower courts. Jayleigh’s experience also includes liquidator’s recovery actions and enforcement proceedings in the Federal and State courts.

  12. Appeared unled in Magistrates Court trial and successfully obtained orders against former tenant of commercial premises for unpaid rent and loss of bargain damages
